ABOUT GROUNDFLOW
Groundflow was created in 1994 by research workers from the oil industry determined to develop seismoelectric technology for groundwater and oil and gas exploration and production.
Their main product, the GF3000, is now in routine use around the world
(UK and Europe, Middle East, Africa, North and South America, Australia and New Zealand) to help locate water boreholes. “Drill after survey” statistics indicate that about three quarters of recommended wells are satisfactory. The main feature of this new geophysical application to resource extraction is that if the target is absent there is no signal.
The success of the groundwater venture prompted Groundflow to adapt its technology for borehole logging. Several trial sondes have been built and successfully operated. These trials led to cooperation with major sonde manufaturers which continues to the present day.
Groundflow has conducted trials of seismoelectric equipment over oil and gas fields onshore and offshore and has developed equipment for direct hydrocarbon indications (dhi’s) made independently of seismic bright spots, flat spots and gas chimneys. There remains an opportunity to obtain an exclusive license for adapting Groundflow’s technology to provide seismoelectric dhi’s alongside routine seismic, both on- and offshore.
